Trick or Treat Time

We went trick or treating with the Simms' in their neighborhood this year. It was nice Brody had other kids to walk around with. Here is a picture of Buzz Lightyear and the Shark. I was surprised Brody was not shy at all. He walked right up to the door for candy.

It was pretty exciting Brody asked to go to the bathroom and was successful 3 times this weekend but nothing since. I'm excited he is at least thinking about it. I'll take what I can get.

We had a busy weekend with the play at The Rose, bowling birthday party and Halloween. I'm glad we don't have anything going on this weekend.

Fall Fun

Two posts in two days, I'm on a roll. We love fall at our house. Brody loves going to the pumpkin patches. We made our annual pilgrimage to Vallas with my parents and my cousin and her kids. Vallas is such a fun place. Last weekend Brody went to his first kid birthday party. It was at a little pumpkin patch is Council Bluffs. It was so funny to watch a handful of 3-4 yr old boys running around. Next weekend we are going to "How I Became a Pirate" play at the Rose children theater and then bowling on Sunday for his cousin's birthday party.

I still have my fingers crossed that Brody will decide he wants to start potty training. Right now he wants nothing to do with it. Sigh...

Piper is growing like a weed. Well a little weed. She still isn't very big. I hope she gets the Pellett petite gene instead of my Dworak/Gibler Eastern European genes. We tend to be a little on the thick side. Ha, Ha. She still goes to bed at 6pm every night. I thought she'd grow out of it but I guess my girl likes her beauty sleep. She is officially on the move. She army crawls all over the place and of course she doesn't want to play with her toys she goes after Brody's toys. Just think I only have 18 years of Piper driving him crazy.

Brody's Birthday

Greetings~

Unfortunately, I don't have any good pictures from Brody's birthday party. He was too busy to stop and smile for the camera that day. There was just too much going on. He had a great time at his birthday party and of course he got so much new stuff.

Today we took Brody to the zoo. We left Piper with my parents and just spent time with Brody. We had a really fun day even though it was a little chilly. Brody is at a really fun age right now. He loved the animals and even introduced himself to some of them. "Hi my name is Brody Patrick". When we got home from the zoo I went back to painting Brody's room. I decided it had been the same color for 3 years and it was time for an update. I'll post a picture when it is all done.

Piper is doing great. She is really getting the hang of eating baby food. She wants to crawl so bad but she just can't figure out how yet. I'm not sure if I'm ready for her to be on the move yet. Brody already gets annoyed when she happens to get a hold of something of his.

Harvest is just getting started so that means I'll pretty much be a single parent for about 2 months.

We are going for our annual trip to Valas in a couple of weeks so I'll post pictures soon.

Piper's Baptism

Happy Labor Day Everyone!!!
We've had a great weekend. Miss Piper was baptized yesterday at St. Peter's Church by Father Kottas. It was great day with lots of family and friends not to mention beautiful fall weather. This week is Brody's 3rd birthday I can't believe he is 3 already. We are having a pirate birthday party for him on Saturday. I will post pictures next weekend from his party. Until then Arrr Matey!!!

Summer

Hi~
Wow this summer has gone by fast and Piper is getting bigger everyday. I can't believe she's 5 months old already. Brody will be 3 years old next month and we are having a pirate party for him. I don't have alot of new pictures of Brody because he doesn't hold still long enough for me to take them. Piper doesn't have a choice yet so I have a ton of pictures of her. We went to Okoboji again last month and had a great time. In the picture above Brody and Piper are riding the train at Arnolds Park. Piper already thinks her brother is cool. She smiles and giggles whenever he pays any attention to her. Right now Brody is sick, he has a fever we are fighting.

When we were in Okoboji I managed to prove to myself I was still young and I went water skiing. I hadn't been skiing in at least 5 years. I got right up the first time but the next day my shoulders and back we sore.

We don't have much planned for August but September will be busy with Piper's baptism and then Brody's birthday. I will post pictures from both events.

Hi Everyone,

I'm keeping my goal and making my June post. We went to Okoboji for a long weekend last weekend. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate for a lake weekend. It was only in the 60's and 70's and only sunny one day so no boating. We did some shopping and of course we went to Arnold's Park. It was nice to get away but I can't wait to go back in July because hopefully it will be hot so we can swim and boat. Here is a picture of Brody on his first fishing outing and a picture of Piper in the cabin.

Busy Weekend

Hello Everyone~

We had a busy weekend. The kids got their pictures taken on Saturday morning. Overall I think they turned out great. Unfortunately Piper was her super happy a half hour before pictures started. So when the photographer got to our house she was hungry and tired. Isn't that always the way.

Sunday morning we woke up early and went to mass at St. Peter's and visited one of my favorite people Father Kottas. Then it was off to the zoo. Brody loved the animals and the train. Piper did not like the train especially the whistle and when they let out the steam. That night we visited Grandma and Grandpa Gibler.

We got our in car DVD player installed in Jay's truck so we are ready for our trips to Okoboji this year. Hopefully it will keep Brody busy for the 3 hour drive.

It's Been A Long Time Coming

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe it has been over a year since I last blogged. In the last year Jay and I welcomed a baby girl to our family. Piper Elizabeth was born March 7th. Miss Piper is healthy and happy but don't let her fool you she's got fire in her belly. When she gets mad watch out. Unfortunately she already got sick. She was only at daycare 1 week.... All daycares should be bleach bombed weekly.

Brody is a great big brother. He'll be 3 this September. He's a very sweet little boy except when he's testing his mom :) He likes to watch Toy Story, Curious George and Sesame Street. He said to me the other day when we were driving "Look an octagon" I took me a second and then I noticed he was pointing to the stop sign. Telly was looking for an octagon on an episode we had watched a week earlier. Good old Sesame Street....

Jay and I are celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary next week. We are going to Cascio's Steakhouse for dinner. Yum I can't wait. We are going on a cruise in January. I'm so excited even though I know I'll miss the kiddos.

I know I haven't been good about updating but my goal is to update at least monthly. So talk to

All little boy

Hello,

We are so glad spring has arrived. It is great to have the windows open and be able to be outside. We made our first zoo trip last weekend. Brody was roaring all the way through the Cat House. He liked the lions, tigers and other cats the best.

He is talking so much more now. Some of his favorite words are "no", "Melmo" (aka Elmo), "Mom" "puppy" and the list can go on. He is all boy. He loves to play outside, be dirty and climb.

As for Jay and I. Planting has started for Jay so he has been busy. Nothing new with me. I'm still working from home 3 times a week and loving it. We are looking forward to our family vacation to Spirit Lake in June.

Florida Vacation

Hello All~
We just got back from a vacation in Florida. We did so many fun things the week we were there. My sister in law Brandy and I were in a cupcake eating contest, Jay and I ate a sandwich called a Fat Sandy, we went shopping at an amazing outlet mall, and Brody got to play with his cousins Cale and Reagan. Here is a picture of him and Reagan at the park. The weather was cool 50-60s but it was great compared to the cold and snow that was in Council Bluffs. Brody did good on his first plane rides.

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a long time. You can blame it on Facebook that is were I post my pictures. The smile on Brody's face in the picture sums up our Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas with our families. The weather was terrible on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but it didn't put a damper on our celebrations. I think we ended up getting a foot of snow here in Council Bluffs.

Today we have the Pellett family pictures so hopefully we get some good pictures to turn out. We hope everyone is well. Talk to you soon.

Fall 2009

Brody and I visited Jay on the farm a few weeks ago. Brody and I both rode in a combine for the first time. The picture above is Jay and Brody checking out the beans.

We also went to the Valas Pumpkin Patch last weekend. It was really fun. Brody's favorite thing was the slides. He still is a little young for some of the stuff there but next year he should be able to do more.

The whole family had the flu last week. Brody had it last Saturday and then Jay and I both got sick on Monday. My parent's took Brody on Monday night and then they both got the flu last weekend. I felt so bad that we gave them the flu.

We finished our kitchen so the wood floors are next. We hope to have them down before Christmas.

Welcome Cooper

We are so happy our friends adopted a little boy from Ethiopia. Brody met Cooper for the first time a few weeks ago. Here are the boys hanging out.

Brody is really getting the hang of walking. I think he gets better at it everyday. He also loves to play outside.

Jay is getting ready to start harvesting so B and I will be hanging on our own.

I think Brody is officially a toddler. He is everywhere and in everything. He is not walking on his own yet he pushes/walks behind a walker. We are having his 1st birthday party this Sunday so we will be busy cleaning and getting ready. His official birthday is Tuesday the 8th.

We went to the zoo last weekend. I hadn't been there in years. It is such a neat place. Brody enjoyed the petting zoo.

I will post pictures from his birthday party on Monday.

A Day at the Fair

We took Brody to Westfair this weekend and his favorite animal was the sheep. He thought it was funny when the sheep licked his feet. I think his least favorite was the roosters.

Brody is pulling himself up on everything and getting into everything. We think he will be walking soon so we will really be in trouble. His favorite food is grilled cheese and his new favorite snack is Cheez Its.

Right now we are planning his 1st birthday party. I can't believe he is going to be 1 already.

Jay and I are working on getting our kitchen remodeling project done before his birthday party.

Vacation

We got back yesterday from a week in Okoboji. It was Brody's first official vacation. Our friends Nikki, Andy and their son Drew came up for the weekend and then Jay's parents came up later in the week. It was a fun and relaxing week.

The worst and best part about going on vacation is coming home. It is great to be home but ugh all the laundry and unpacking. As you can see by the picture we had a lot of laundry to do.

Let the remodeling begin

We got our new black granite counter tops last week. They look so good. We don't have the back splash up yet but that is next. We also painted the kitchen and changed the hardware.

Brody had his 9 month check up and he weighs 19 lbs. He is crawling everywhere and I have a feeling he will be walking soon. He is all boy, I tell him he is wild as a billy goat. But he is so much fun and it is great watching him grow and learn new things.

We are heading up to Okoboji for a week vacation at the end of June so we are looking forward to some rest and relaxation.

Hi Everyone,

Here are some pictures of Brody from this weekend. He is looking more like a little boy instead of a baby each day. He is doing great he sits up on his own now but is still trying to figure out how to crawl. He will be 8 months old in 3 days.

Jay and I bought a new dishwasher and oven last week and hope to get new counter tops soon. If you have seen our kitchen you know that it needs updating/remodeled.

On May 19th it is our 2 year wedding anniversary. Wow the last 2 years has flown by. Why is it the older we get the faster time goes by??? Last year on our anniversary we were in Washington D.C. We had dinner with Jay's Aunt Nancy for our anniversary. It was fun. I'm not sure what we are going to do this year.

We are looking forward to this summer. We are planning on going to Okoboji for a week in June to relax. Other than that Jay has softball on Sunday nights and I have sand volleyball on Thursday nights. So I'm sure we will keep busy.

In closing I want to say congratulations to Todd and Brooke on their engagement. We are looking forward to their wedding next year.

We went to Kansas City last weekend for the Yankees vs Royals baseball game. We had a great time with our friends. Brody had a sleep over with Grandma and Grandpa Gibler. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of him in his Easter outfit because he spit up on it before pictures. I hope everyone had a great Easter.

Full Time

Brody started daycare full time this week. He seems to be doing great. There must be a lot of action at daycare because he is exhausted when he gets home.

I'm getting excited Jay and I and some friends are going to KC in two weeks to go to the Royals vs Yankees baseball game. I love baseball and the Yankees are my favorite team. Jay and I had went the last couple of years to see the game but last year we didn't go because the game was in August and I was too pregnant to go enjoy myself. Go Yankees!!!!!

Jay's 31st birthday is the 16th and we are going to dinner on Monday to celebrate. Brody is having a sleep over at Grandma and Grandpa Gibler's this Saturday so we are going out with our friends. We are going for drinks and bowling. Lightening Bowl here we come.

Master Cuts Man

This has been a big week for Brody. On Thursday his first tooth came in and he got his first hair cut at Master Cuts. Well it was only a little trim around his ears but I guess that counts right. We are getting ready for his baptism on March 22nd. He will be going to daycare full time starting the beginning of April. I will miss my time with him at home during the day but I think it will be good for him to be around other kids.

I'm so excited for daylight savings and the arrival of spring and summer so we can spend more time outside.

Under the Weather

Brody has been sick all week. When went to the doctor on Wednesday and Dr. Shawn said he had RSV but his lungs and ears were clear. On Friday he didn't seem any better so we went back to Dr. Shawn and Brody had ear infections and his lungs were full. He was prescribed an antibiotic and breathing neubulizer. He seems to be getting better everyday. It was so funny when I opened the bottle of pink Amoxicillin it took me back to my childhood. As soon as I smelled it I knew that had taken the same antibiotic when I was little.

Hi,

I hope everyone in the Midwest is enjoying this great weather. I took Brody out for a walk today so he could get some fresh air. He liked to look at all the cars go by. He turned 5 months 2 days ago and we can really see changes in him. He has slept through the night the last 2 nights and he is rolling over and playing on his tummy . We have learned that he does not like green beans. I don't blame him I don't like them either unless they are covered in cream of mushroom soup and topped with fried onions. He gave me the funniest look when I tried to feed them to him and then he spit them out :)

As for Jay and I not much new with us. Just slowly painting and working on the house and spending time with friends. Talk to everyone soon.

Hi I thought Brody looked so cute this morning as
he was getting ready to leave for daycare. My friend
Sara got this shirt for him. I thought it might
help him pick up girls at daycare. You can't tell but the stocking hat he is wearing says "Future Senator" on it. Jay's cousin from DC got it for him.

Nothing new here. We were all sick from last Saturday to Wednesday so last weekend was not fun at the Pellett house. We are hoping for a better one this weekend.

Tonight we fed Brody cereal for the first time. Overall he did really good. I don't think he swallowed any and most of it was on his face and bib but he seemed to enjoy trying to eat it off the spoon. Went for his 4 month shots on Tuesday and took them like a man. Wow I can't believe he is 4 months old already.

For those of you who don't live in the area it is freezing here this week. I'm counting the days until spring.

On Sunday Matt Waters, Nicole, Jackson and Lydia came to our house to visit. Lydia is about 5 weeks old and so little and cute. She was so light when I was holding her. It was great to see them.

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. We are going to use the Menards gift cards we got to start updating our house.

Last night Brody stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Gibler and Jay and I went out with my cousins Chad and Josh, Ashley, Ben, Julie and Brian. It was so nice to go out. I can't remember that last time I was up until 2am. Safe to say I'm exhausted today.

Please have a fun and safe New Year's Eve.

Seasons Greetings

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. We have been very busy. We successfully moved to Council Bluffs the first week of December. The house is great but we are still trying to get everything put away. We are so excited for Christmas and spending time with family and friends. Brody is growing up so fast. He will be 4 months old on Jan. 8th. We count our blessing everyday for him. We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

We sold our house in Atlantic last Friday and on Sunday we bought the above house in Council Bluffs. We are so excited! Our closing date is Dec. 5th so we have already started packing.

Brody is growing so fast. He had his 2 month shots yesterday and he did so good. Thank goodness for baby Tylenol.

This weekend Brody's Aunt Brandy and Uncle Kyle came from Indy to see their nephew. As you can see they are big Indianapolis Colts fan so they brought Brody a Colts outfit. Doesn't he look cute in it !!!! It was so nice of them to come and we appreciate them making the trip.

Brody is Growing Like a Weed

Brody is growing so fast and is becoming more alert of his surroundings everyday. He is out of his newborn clothes and now in the 0-3 size. I was looking at his baby picture from the hospital yesterday and he doesn't look anything like the picture anymore. I'm going back to work next Wednesday. I only go into the office once a week so I still will be home with him 4 days a week.

We put our house on the market today so lets hope for a buyer soon...

Lunch Date

Brody and I met Karen, Hunter and Emma at Grandma Betty's house for lunch on Friday. Brody got to meet his cousins Hunter and Emma for the first time.

This weekend Jay and I are going to a party so Brody is going to stay with Grandma and Grandpa Gibler again this Saturday. Last Saturday we went to Nikki's graduation party and then Brody got to meet Drew Meyers for the first time. For those of you who don't know Drew Meyers is 9 months old and a future friend of Brody's. Right Nikki :)

Life at home

Hi All,

Well we have been home from the hospital a week and we are starting to get settled in. Brody has his days and nights mixed up a little bit so Jay and I are taking shifts staying up with him. Jay and I are both tired but Brody seems well rested everyday :) Seriously he is great and we love him so much. I want to thank everyone that came to the hospital, dropped by the house and made us dinners to heat up. I can't wait for Brody to meet his cousins in Papillion, family members who live out of town (especially Aunt Brandy and Uncle Kyle) and his new friends in Council Bluffs.

Hello Everyone!!!

We had a busy Labor Day weekend!!! On Saturday we went to a wedding reception for our friend that got married in Mexico in July. It was so great she even had a drink there for the pregnant guests called a Mommy Mocktail and it was tasty.

Then on Sunday we went to a great party that the Borman family hosted at the Country Club. Everyone there was having such a great time and I got to have more of those tasty drinks from the reception the night before.

For any pregnant ladies out there or anyone interested in a non alcoholic alternative ask for a drink made with Sprite, pineapple juice and a splash of Grenadine.

Now for the baby news!!! As of today I'm 38 weeks and 4 days and I feel and look everyday of that pregnant. At my appointment today Dr. Ortiz asked if I wanted to be induced next week since I will be at 40 weeks next Friday. Jay and I talked it over and we decided that we are going to go ahead and schedule a date next week Right now I'm just waiting to hear back from the doctor's office with the date. I will let you know when we know the date. So everyone will get to meet the new Mr. Pellett soon. I added the lastest picture of him above.

Hello Everyone!!!

OK here I go again. Jay told me I can' t have a blog with our last name spelled wrong so I had to start a new one.

I'm not sure if all of you got to read the first blog I set up, so here is a recap and if you already read my first blog sorry you have to read this again.

I decided to start a blog when my friend Jennifer suggested it would be good idea so everyone could keep up with Baby P. Since Jay has a lot of family out of the state and we all get so busy with our lives that we don't keep in touch as often as we should I decided to start a blog.

Today I'm 37 weeks pregnant so Baby P can come at any time now (my estimated delivery date is 9/12/2008). At our appointment last Monday he weighed 6 pounds 1 ounce. We go back this Monday so I'm excited so see how much he has grown and if I have progressed any.

As some of you know Jay and I will be moving to Council Bluffs in the next few months. I'm sorry to say that Atlantic just isn' t for me. We don't have any details on the move yet but I will keep you posted.
